Propak maximizes the use of the modular design concept wherever practical. Propak's expertise in utilizing the modular approach has proven to be an effective method that minimizes overall project costs, improves the overall project schedule and allows for a more thorough inspection in a controlled environment. Propak has designed and fabricated processing plants consisting of as many as 20 separate modules, and has equipment which is now operating as far south as Tierra del Fuego, Argentina and as far north as Norman Wells in the Northwest Territories, Canada. As well as providing large modular processing plants, Propak is actively involved in the design and fabrication of individual wellhead processing equipment.

Modularization concepts are preferred based on the following advantages:

  • Each system is custom designed with transportation limitations for each project location
  • Improved quality due to manufacturing in controlled conditions with a highly experienced, permanent work force
  • Modularization reduces field construction costs in adverse construction environments
  • The modular concept improves the long term value of equipment, since it may be easily moved to a future location

Propak's fabrication facility is completely equipped for the efficient processing of 100,000 manhours per month. All work is monitored by Propak's own quality control department. This includes all pressure and structural welding, equipment assembly, insulation, sandblasting and painting, and building erection. Propak's registered welding procedures include GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), SAW (Submerged Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding). The fabrication department is certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to use the "U", "UM", and "S" Stamp Certificate, and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors to use the "R" Stamp Certificate for the repair of pressure vessels. The assembly department is certified to use the "U" and "UM" Stamp Certificate.

Propak is experienced in shipping to markets throughout the world and have the expertise to coordinate land, sea and air shipments from our Airdrie facilities.
